Vacation Bible School 2012
Babylon: Daniel's Courage in captivity
Mark your calendars for Vacation Bible School 2012! This year, we'll be traveling to the ancient and legendary city of Babylon to visit Daniel and learn of his courage in captivity! Kids will have the chance to see, hear, touch and even taste what it was like to live in Babylon 2,500 years ago. They'll explore authentic marketplace shops and make Biblical crafts; visit Daniel in his home; play games; sing and dance to great music; and sample delicious treats as they discover more about following God's word.
The fun will take place right here at Antioch, but VBS is a partnership among Antioch Lutheran Church, North Congregational Church, and First Presbyterian Church of Farmington.
Dates: August 6-10, 2012
Time: 9:30 a.m.-12:00 noon
Grades: K-5 (entering)
Cost: $20 per child; $30 per child if registrations are received after August 1.
Registration forms are available for download here, as well as in the Narthex and Church Office. They were also emailed to the Congregation with the May-June edition of The Epistle. Sign up early so you don't miss the fun! Invite a friend to attend with you!
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
We need volunteers to make VBS a wonderful time for everyone! Whether you are able to come in for one morning or all week, we can use your help! Youth entering grades 6 and up are encouraged to help out -- it's a great way to earn Community Service hours! Adults are needed as well! We need volunteers to help with the following positions:
- Daniel: Adult male to play Daniel each morning;
Daniel meets with the children and tells them stories
from his life.
- Tribe Leaders: Work with an assistant to teach
Bible points and guide children from activity to activity.
- Marketplace Shopkeepers: Teach a simple craft to
small groups of children.
- Games Leaders: Teach fun games to children.
Training and costumes are provided!
VBS is one of Antioch's most important outreach efforts each year—please help us to make this the best year ever for the kids who attend!
