Committees
Altar Guild: We would appreciate two or more volunteers to help set up for communion and get the Altar ready for worship during September. Normally, a group of four meets near the end of each week to set up everything for Sunday. Then after each service, things need to be cleaned up and ready for the next service (after the 8:30 a.m. service) or for storing for the week. If you will help in this way, joining the two already scheduled, please contact Barbara Scott or the church office.
Finance Committee: The Finance Committee meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. Contact the church office for additional information.
Parish Health Ministry: The Health Ministry Team meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 11:00 a.m. Our next blood drive is October 21, 2008. Many of you donate regularly and we thank you, in advance, for saving your blood until October 21. We need someone to make phone calls for the next blood drive. We also need a few good cooks to supply soup, bread, veggies, fruit, and a couple dozen cookies for the day. If you are interested, please call Barbara Unruh or sign up on the bulletin board on the south wall in the Narthex. NOTE: We will no longer be offering flu shots at the church, since flu shots are readily available to the public in November.
Prayer Ministry: The Prayer Group will resume meetings on Tuesday, September 16 at 9:30 a.m. at the church. We will meet the first and third Tuesdays of each month through May. You are cordially invited to any or all meetings.
The Prayer Chain is a group of people who are notified by telephone or e-mail when there is a special request to pray immediately. If you or someone you know needs prayer on an emergency basis (surgery, accident, etc.) please call the church office or Muriel Manecke. If you wish to be one of the pray-ers, please notify Barbara Scott or the church office.
The Prayer List in This Week at Antioch: If you wish to add a name to this list, please call the church office and make the request. We need to know who is putting the person on the list and what the need is (cancer, surgery, etc.). After that, please keep us updated on the person’s progress. If we don’t hear anything, we may remove them from the list after four weeks. If you’d like them to remain, please renew your request.
Social Ministry: Meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. For a list of Social Ministry Activities, please visit the webpage on Giving.
Woman’s Fellowship and Bible Study: The group meets all year on the second Monday of the month at 1:00 p.m. The study course is found in Lutheran Woman Today. Meeting locations change each month. Check the Epistle for additional information.
